Tuesday September 6th 2022: The School of Engineering - Department of Computer and Communications Engineering - at Tafila Technical University organized a scientific day to introduce the (DeCAIR) project under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Omar Nawaf Al-Maaytah.

On behalf of the university president, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Atef Al-Mashaqbeh, inaugurated the event, stressing the importance of keeping pace with scientific and technological developments and employing them in developing educational curricula at all educational levels, especially in the medical, engineering, agricultural and industrial fields, and harnessing technological advancements to serve humanity in all aspects of life.
The general coordinator of the DeCAIR project, Dr. Gheith Abandah, reviewed the importance of artificial intelligence and robotics in various areas of life, as well as the objectives of the DeCAIR project. Engineer Ismail Yassin, President of the Arab Society for Robot and Artificial Intelligence, talked about the main concept of artificial intelligence, its fields, and the most prominent applications associated with it in the future.
According to the project coordinator at Tafila Technical University, Dr. Murad Al-Aqtash, the DeCAIR project aims to develop curricula for artificial intelligence and robotics in several Jordanian and Lebanese universities. The project is managed by the University of Jordan within the “Erasmus Plus” programs with the support of the European Union, with the participation of universities from Jordan, Lebanon, Italy, Germany and Spain, along with representatives of technical companies working in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics in partner countries.
