Official Launch of DeCAIR's Smart Systems Laboratory in Tafila Technical University
The President of Tafila Technical University, Prof. Bassam Al-Mahasneh, opened the Smart Systems and Robotics Laboratory on Monday, 30/10/2023, on the university campus.
During the opening, Dr. Al-Mahasneh confirmed that the laboratory serves the educational process in the Department of Computer and Communications Engineering at the College of Engineering, by providing specialized devices and equipment in the field
of artificial intelligence and robotics within the project “Developing Curricula for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics” DeCAIR, for the bachelor’s and master’s programs, in which the university participates alongside Jordanian and European universities.
For his part, the project coordinator at the university, Dr. Murad Al-Aqtash, explained that the DeCAIR project, which is managed by the University of Jordan within the “Erasmus Plus” programs, with the support of the European Union, with the participation of universities from Jordan, Lebanon, Italy, Germany, and Spain, aims to improve current programs and create new programs. In the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics, with the aim of employing artificial intelligence and its applications in all aspects of life to serve humanity. The cost of establishing the laboratory amounted to (55) thousand euros.
The opening was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Nabil Al-Shabbat, and a number of faculty members and students of the College of Engineering at the university.
